Why Professional Photos Are So Important

This stunning home was such a surprise! We were called out to do photos as the vendor had changed agents, and was desperate for a quick sell- this is the property I use as an example of why professional photos are so important, and why waiting for them can actually make everything move quicker.

The vendor told the first agent that she needed a very quick sale, so the agent took the photos themselves as time is of the essence (and this is nothing against the agent- they did the absolute best they could under such a tight schedule!) But because the agent wasn’t a photographer, they fell into the same trap most people do, and that’s turning the lights on when it’s darker outside. It may seem logical to add more light when it’s dark, but as a result, the photos will look very orange and dark, the lights creating a bright halo on the ceiling. As a result, the photos made the property seem very tired and gloomy. Again, not the agents fault at all, but because of this, they struggled to get viewings, and after two weeks the vendor had to change tactics.

This is where I came in. What a shock when I arrived and realised this house, which looked so gloomy online, was practically a show home, and a naturally bright one at that! The vendor had to wait a few days for me to be able to visit, but after I’d taken the images, I edited them and delivered them within 24 hours, and the property sold in mere days, and for above asking price.

This cements the importance of professional photography. It was alter the perceived value of the property, encouraging more viewings, and even potentially a higher offer price too. And it shows that actually waiting for photos to be done, can actually speed up the process overall!

So here are the photos I took for this property!
